Jhari Waterfalls

Jhari Waterfalls, also known as the Buttermilk Falls, is situated near Attigundi at a distance of 12 km from Baba Budangiri. The waterfalls reaches the bottom in stages. The bottom of the waterfalls has a small pond where swimming is permitted.

Baba Budangiri/ Datta Peeta

enthralling scenery makes this a much frequented pilgrim centre.

Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary

Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected region and a Tiger sanctuary. Originally known as Jagara Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, this area is a haven for a wide variety of mammals like tigers, leopards, boars, deer, muntjac, pangolins, flying squirrels, sloth bears, otters and other exotic species. A wide variety of butterflies, birds, and reptiles can be found in the sanctuary. Valuaable teak and rosewood can be found in this region.

There is no operational airport in Chikmagalur yet. The nearest airport is Mangalore International Airport which is around 170 km away. Reach Chikmagalur by Bus

Chikmagalur is very well-connected by KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) and private luxury buses from cities like Bangalore, Mangalore, Chennai, and Hubli.                    


There are buses departing from Bangalore at least once every 60 minutes during day. 


The weekend buses are almost always full, so the journey must be planned appropriately. KSRTC buses are comfortable, especially the Airavata Volvo buses.                        

Reach Chikmagalur by Car

You can reach Chikmagalur by road from Bangalore. The fastest route is via Hassan  which is on NH 48. The road from Hassan to Chickmagalur is fairly good with 2 way lane with good scenic view around the road.                               


The alternate route is to reach via Tumkur and Arsikere/Kadur. This route is very well laid but most of the parts are with single road making drive a little congested.
